SPRING TREND Q&A WITH DESIGNER8*

Q: WHAT ARE THE TRENDS IN COLORS?

A: While pastels and neutrals, especially pink, are still going strong in 2020, dark and saturated colors are joining the group. For some, black has become part of the neutral pallet.

Q: WHAT ARE THE TRENDS IN FABRICS? FOR EXAMPLE, ARE WE GOING TO SEE MORE TEXTURED FABRICS, OR VELVETS OR FAUX FURS?

A: Clients are mixing and matching all types of fabrics – this includes woods, metals, linens and velvets with rattan furniture pieces and colorful accents.

Q: ARE THERE TRENDS IN ROOM TYPES? THAT IS, ARE PEOPLE TRY TO CREATE LOUNGES, KITCHENS, LIVING ROOMS, ETC., WITH THEIR RENTAL FURNITURE?

A: Clients are creating communal spaces – both via bars and cocktail seating as well as comfortable lounge spaces to maximize guest comfort and engagement.

Q: WHAT ARE THE TRENDS IN FINISHES?

A: We are seeing a huge push for natural and rattan finishes. Our new collection features a number of styles that can be used both indoors and outdoors.

Q: ARE THERE ANY TRENDS IN RENTAL WALLS OR OTHER FREESTANDING STRUCTURES?

A: Our DESIGNER8* walls and partitions are incredibly popular and are constantly being used for room dividers, decorative accents and stylish photo moments.

Q: ARE THERE ANY TRENDS IN STYLES, E.G., ART DECO OR MIDCENTURY MODERN, ETC.?

A: Midcentury modern is still in high demand, but we see that clients are more interested in specific materials and shapes (good grains, organic shapes) rather than specific pieces.

Q: IS FURNITURE MIXED WITH TECHNOLOGY A TREND? IF SO, WHAT ARE YOU ANTICIPATING?

A: Yes, many clients are looking to maximize the functionality of their pieces with items such as charging tables, light up bars and tables, etc.

Q: WHAT’S THE STRANGEST OR MOST UNEXPECTED TREND IN RENTAL FURNITURE YOU’RE SEEING?

A: The eclectic mixing of styles and shapes has become a constant in events. Mixing indoor and outdoor is also huge, specifically rattan and natural materials with polished metal, velvet and even acrylic.
